About Christina

Γεια σας! I am Christina, I am 32 years old and I am currently in London, doing my PhD in Linguistics (from January 2022). I have always been passionate about languages and I have been teaching Greek for the last few years to students from the USA, Australia, the UK and France. I am looking forward to transmitting my passion and knowledge to my future students, too! If it all sounds Greek to you, this is your chance to become a fluent speaker!

About the lesson

I have 6 years of experience in kindergartens and schools teaching English to Greek students and Greek to non Greek-speaking students in Greece, China (International Canadian School of Hefei) and the Netherlands.

Apart from younger students I also have experience teaching adults who want to learn Greek from scratch. I pay special attention to the grammar and new vocabulary through theory and plenty of practice with a variety of exercises.

Being a native speaker of Modern Greek and having 6 years of experience in teaching I am qualified to help my students acquire a very good level in conversational Greek starting from scratch. I adapt to the topics of their interest and I pay value to the rich vocabulary and the correct use of grammar which are of great importance to the spoken use of the Greek language.

Having worked in plenty of schools and language institutes I have learned how to help my students reach their goals in a short period of time and when they are planning to take a Greek exam to acquire a language certificate. Even in the intensive lessons I always pay value to the learning of Greek grammatical phenomena and vocabulary, these being fundamental knowledge to the learning of Greek.

I have 6 years of teaching experience in kindergartens and schools. I have abundant materials for children but I also create my own material and I adapt to the needs of each student.

Greek literature, history and culture are important parts of my teaching. My studies and my personal interest in these fields helped me gain valuable knowledge to be able to teach the Greek grammar and vocabulary through literature and historical topics in Greek, including ancient and modern Greek history, literature movements and folklore topics related to the Greek culture.
