About Hellen
I help adults speak English in real conversations without freezing.
My name is Hellen. I am from Kenya. I have a BA in Literature and two years of experience teaching English online, one to one.
I am a calm teacher. I speak clearly, I listen more than I lecture, and I correct the mistakes that stop you being understood. Classes start on time. I come prepared. After each lesson you know what to practise.
I am a good fit if you already know some English but lack confidence when you talk. You do not need perfect grammar to start. In the first lesson we talk, I hear your level, and we agree a simple plan.

If you understand English but freeze when you have to speak, these classes are for you.
I teach adult conversation online, one to one. We talk from minute one. I correct the errors that block you, not every small mistake, and I give you sentences you can use the same day at work, in a shop, or with new people.
A usual 60 minute class looks like this. We start with a short warm up. Then we have a real conversation on a topic you chose. After that I pick two or three points: a sound, a tense, or a better phrase. We practise those, then you leave with a few lines to say out loud before next time.
I keep the pace calm and the English clear. There is no fixed textbook and no long grammar lecture. The first lesson is a normal conversation so I can hear your level and we can agree what to work on next.
