About Patrick

I'm a native Spanish literature student who has been teaching Spanish to both foreign and native speakers for over five years. I have taught more than 20 students from all levels.

Many of them have gone on to University studies in Spanish and literature, and some foreign speakers have ended up moving to Spain!
I've also helped professionals to get up to date with their Spanish language skills, tailoring the lessons for their needs.

I can also teach to French and Italian native speakers.

About the lesson

I base my classes on a combination of formal and informal teaching, which my experience tells me is best. I prioritize expression and fluidity over canonical knowledge of the language. Most of all, I want to give the student the tools to improve according to their own rythm, needs and capacities.

I usually like to combine language lessons with a crash course in Hispanic culture and literature, but the content can be adapted to every particular case.
For foreign students, I normally begin with a writing and reading comprehension task that the student can prepare in advance with material provided by me. Then we practice speaking for a bit, discussing issues of interest for the student which may include relevant vocabulary for them. The sessions may end up with some grammatical practice.
For native speakers, lessons are tailored depending on the case.

I decided to take some Spanish classes before embarking on a 6 months trip to South America and Patrick really helped me level up my speaking skills. He was very patient and adapting to my needs. For whatever reason you need a Spanish teacher, I definitely vouch for Patrick!

Patrick proved to be the best source to learn Spanish from scratch during my exchange program. Proficient and articulate in multiple languages, his teaching methods were extremely effective and comprehensive and provided me with confidence in my command of Spanish in just a few lessons. His broad cultural knowledge and a very acute sense for linguistic nuances helped me root down the most complex concepts while allowing fast paced progress. On top of that, he will always make sure you’re truly understanding his teachings. Can’t recommend him enough!

Patrick has been my Spanish tutor in Paris and I was really happy with his approach and the structure of the classes that are designed for his student's needs. He is a dedicated and serious tutor but manages to make the learning process easy and fun for students like me. He is very understanding and takes time to explain everything in detail. My Spanish level drastically improved in a few months, so I would definitely recommend him as a tutor for other SuperProf members who want to learn Spanish!

Patrick is kind and patient. While I am slow with languages, he took time explaining everything and making sure I understood. He is also very funny :)

I am sure you will enjoy your lessons with Patrick!
