I’ve been studying this language for 5 years and have been on a trip to emaXhoseni (Transkei - Eastern Cape) to learn more about the culture. I am further studying it & majoring in it at a university level as well.

I will start by creating a ‘foundation’ for students in terms of understating the languages ‘structure’ so that when building to more complex parts it’s easier to work through. I would also strongly encourage and try to expose students to surrounding Xhosa culture as I think that is extremely exciting and motivating, because it will create a passion for this language, which I believe (as it did for me) will only drive them to work harder and feel more inspired by the language’s substance and beauty.
