About Anderson
Hi everyone, I'm Anderson.
I've been playing violin for over 16 years and teaching for more than 5. In that time I've taught over 50 students, from casual learners who just want to enjoy playing, through to AMEB Grades 1 to 8.
I hold an AMEB LMusA diploma, a performance qualification at tertiary level. I've come up through the Queensland Youth Orchestras, having played in almost every ensemble in the program. I've also toured with an orchestra across Queensland and Japan. Music is my passion, and it's evident in my teaching!
My teaching is patient and paced to the student. Some students want to sit exams and work through the grades. Others just want to play music they love. Both are worth doing well, and I build the lessons around which one it is.

As a teacher, I focus on the things that compound. Logical thinking and efficient practice habits are what carry a student forward long after the lesson ends, so that's where I put the most attention. Technique and musicality matter too, and we work on both, but a student who knows how to practise well will outpace one who only plays well in the room.
Five years of teaching has taught me that no two students work the same way. I build lesson plans around the individual, whether the goal is an AMEB grade, a school ensemble, or simply playing music they love.
