About Marie
I hold an MA in International Relations and completed a PhD in Political Sciences and Government in 2010 both from Sciences Po Bordeaux (France), graduating with distinction (original certificates for each qualification provided upon request). I am a former social sciences researcher and teacher from Sciences Po Bordeaux (France) who worked later on as a creative consultant in France for top-ranked French universities. My fields of expertise are political science and foreign policy analysis. I have an extensive knowledge of current international affairs and geopolitics and am an expert on political issues as well as social sciences theory and methodologies.
I have taught social sciences for more than 5 years , political science and international affairs at undergraduate and graduate levels at Sciences Po Bordeaux in France (Science Po Bordeaux is a highly ranked French university specialized in public affairs and government studies). I am currently teaching French for foreigners ("français langue étrangère") to both children and adults.

My teaching method for children is based on exploration of French language through specific topics (greetings, parts of the body, family, fruits, my routine, my home, etc), to learn the basic skills (first sentences in French, counting, etc). I use material inspired by alternative pedagogies such as Montessori, mixing them with more classic approaches (work sheets and exercices).
Regarding adults, I teach french through conversation, with a strong focus on international affairs, political, societal and cultural issues. My approach is highly appropriate for students who would like to improve their French for a particular professional goal or for adults that work in an industry or sector that requires an extensive knowledge of french connected to the current international, political, societal and cultural issues - or simply for students that are naturally drawn into these subjects. Relying on my own experience of learning english, I know that a good way to improve your skills and proficiency in a foreign language is simply to connect to your natural fields of interests and to learn to talk about them.
Finally, I am also a photographer, so arts, culture and creativity are topics that I am always pleased to discuss with any of my students, to give our lessons and conversations a lighter tone.
Typical lenght of a lesson is 45min for teenagers, 1h for students and adults.
