About Jade

Hi, I’m a native Mandarin speaker with top grades (A* at both GCSE and A-Level) and a real passion for sharing the language and culture. I moved to the UK in middle school - the experience of having grown up bilingual and tutored students of different ages, I understand the challenges of learning Mandarin. My goal is to make it enjoyable, practical, and rewarding. Whether you’re working towards an exam or simply want to speak with more confidence, I’m here to help you progress at your own pace. My goal is to make each lesson feel supportive and tailored to you, so you can reach your goals and have fun along the way!

About the lesson

About My Lessons: I take a friendly, supportive, and interactive approach to teaching Mandarin, creating lessons that suit your level and goals — whether you’re preparing for GCSE/A-Level exams, improving your conversation skills, or starting from scratch. Techniques & methodology: My lessons focus on practical language skills — speaking, listening, reading, and writing — with engaging exercises, real-life examples, and cultural insights to help you gain confidence. I also tailor my teaching to each student’s pace and interests, making sure you feel comfortable and challenged at the same time. Lesson length: Sessions typically last 1 hour, but can be extended to 90 minutes for more in-depth practice or exam prep. My qualifications & experience: I’m a native Mandarin speaker who achieved top grades (A* at both GCSE and A-Level for Chinese Native Level Exam). I also have experience tutoring school students, which helps me break down difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps. Who my lessons are for: My lessons suit students of all ages and levels — from absolute beginners to those looking for GCSE/A-Level support or conversational practice.

Perfect! Jade is an excellent teacher! From the first class she was quickly able to gauge my level, following on from this she then tailored the classes accordingly.

She puts a lot of effort into preparing materials in advance before each class, ensuring each lesson is productive and engaging. Her English level is also outstanding, which makes explanations clear and easy to follow. I’d highly recommend Jade to anyone looking to improve their Chinese!
