About Lydia

I have been teaching guitar for 12 years, helping students of all levels reach their musical goals. I hold an Associate Degree in Guitar Performance, which gives me a strong foundation in both technique and theory. Over the years, I’ve prepared many students for Rockschool, Trinity exams, and university-level guitar programs. My passion lies in unlocking each student’s unique performance and creative potential. I believe that every player has their own voice, and my job is to help them find it. Whether you’re aiming to improve your skills, pass an exam, or express yourself through music, I tailor lessons to fit your needs. I focus on building confidence, technique, and musical understanding in a supportive and encouraging environment. My teaching combines structured practice with creative exploration. I love seeing students grow, not just as guitarists but as performers. Music should be exciting and rewarding, and I’m here to make that happen for you. About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on building a strong foundation in guitar skills while keeping lessons fun and inspiring. I start with the basics like classical fingerpicking and reading music on the staff to help students understand notes and timing clearly. Then, we explore hybrid picking techniques to add variety and speed to playing. I emphasize tonal control, teaching how to shape sounds to express emotions and create unique styles. I adapt lessons to each student’s goals, whether they want to play simple songs, improve technique, or prepare for performances. I support learners who want to push boundaries and create their own music, encouraging creativity and confidence. My method balances theory with practical exercises, making sure students not only learn but enjoy the process. I also include training in music reading and rhythm, which helps students stay precise and connected with the music. With over 12 years of experience, I guide students step-by-step, helping them grow from beginners to advanced players. My goal is to inspire passion and skill, so every student can reach their full potential on the guitar.
