About Shravana
Hi, I’m Shravana! I’m a singer, songwriter, musical theater performer, and vocal teacher based in Los Angeles. I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a double major in Performance and Songwriting and a minor in Musical Theater Performance. I also hold a diploma in Musical Theater and Popular Vocals from the London College of Music.
Performing has been a big part of my life across Singapore, Boston, and now Los Angeles. Before COVID, I regularly performed in Singapore as both a singer and Bharatanatyam dancer. In Boston, I sang at Faneuil Hall and South Boston Maritime Park, connecting with audiences at busy tourist hubs, as well as at Brighton Music Hall. My experience also includes a musical theater showcase at Power Station in New York and a fundraising gala at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum with the Pletinitsa Balkan Choir.
Today, I’m a resident musical theater performer at Santa Monica Playhouse, where I perform in weekly children’s musical theater productions and teach students. I also perform a three-hour set every Friday with my band at Flavor of India in Burbank, singing Indian contemporary music and English pop. Around LA, I’ve performed at The Mint, Bar Lubitsch, Republic of Pie, UnUrban Cafe, and The Night Temple.
These different settings have taught me how much goes into a performance beyond singing the right notes: connecting with an audience, telling a story, working with other musicians, and caring for your voice through rehearsals and longer sets. I bring that experience into my teaching so we can connect what you learn in lessons to the songs and performances you want to pursue.
I care about being prepared, giving clear feedback, and helping you understand why we’re working on each exercise. Just as importantly, I want you to feel supported and comfortable asking questions. Whether you’re singing for yourself or working towards the stage, I’d love to help you explore your voice and enjoy the process!

I want singing lessons to be a space where you feel comfortable trying something new, making mistakes, and discovering what your voice can do! My approach combines healthy vocal technique with musical expression, helping you sing with greater ease and confidence while still sounding like yourself.
We’ll usually begin with a check-in and warm-ups tailored to your voice and goals. From there, we’ll explore skills such as breath coordination, releasing unnecessary tension, pitch, resonance, and diction, then apply them to a song you’re excited about. We’ll finish with clear, manageable practice suggestions so you know what to work on between lessons.
As a Berklee College of Music graduate with a double major in Performance and Songwriting, and a working musical theater performer at Santa Monica Playhouse, I bring both musical knowledge and stage experience to our lessons. I especially love helping students bring songs to life through character, storytelling, and emotional connection. We can also work on music theory, ear training, and performance preparation.
I currently teach musical theater to students at Santa Monica Playhouse, alongside private singing lessons. My lessons welcome children, teens, and adults, from complete beginners to singers with experience. Whether you love pop, musical theater, or anything else, we’ll build lessons around your interests and what you’re working towards.
