About Brook
I'm D'LEAU, a Los Angeles musician, producer, songwriter, and music director. I spent four years as Miguel's music director, co-wrote and co-produced records including "#Beautiful" with Mariah Carey, which earned an ASCAP Rhythm & Soul award, and built live shows for artists like Becky G and Terror Jr. With my duo J*Davey, I've performed with Prince, The Roots, and Erykah Badu. I've spent my career turning ideas into finished records and polished live performances, and I love helping students do the same, whether they're just starting out or already working as artists.

My lessons are hands-on and built around what you want to make. We work inside your own projects in Ableton Live, so you learn by creating real music, not just watching tutorials. I cover beat making, arrangement, mixing, sound design, and building a live set or DJ performance. Beginners get a clear foundation without the jargon, and experienced artists get sharper workflows and professional techniques. Each session ends with a tangible step forward on your music, plus simple takeaways you can use right away.
