About Lucia

Hi, I'm Lucia - a piano teacher who loves sharing the joy of piano and helping kids build the skills they need to play their favourite songs. I’ve taught students who started with no experience and now confidently play (and even sing along!) to tunes they love. My lessons are structured but fun creating a personalised scrapbook song book and using a whiteboard to teach theory alongside. I truly believe piano is a skill anyone can learn, and it brings so much joy at every level.

About the lesson

1. How long are the lessons for? 30 or 60 minutes.
2. Who are my lessons for? Anyone who would like to start learning piano and experience the joy of music!
3. What are my qualifications/experiences? I've completed AMEB piano exams up to and including Grade 7 (completed in 2020), with a strong foundation in both performance and music theory. For the past six years, I've had the joy of working with and teaching piano to kids locally.. My experience has allowed me to develop teaching methods that cater to each student individually for their learning style and pace to ensure they get the most joy out of their musical journey!
4. What are the techniques and teaching methodologies? Each student starts a blank book that becomes their own piano book. As I discover pieces they enjoy, I add music and exercises overtime to their book to allow a personalised collection of songs they love that they can bring to each lesson and practice at home.
5. How is theory learnt? To explain concepts like music theory, I use my knowledge and theory books combined with a whiteboard and colourful markers to explain theory visually making it easy and engaging allowing for interactive exercises and explanations.

Perfect! As a father I am very glad that I sent my 2 kids Skye and Max to Lucia for the piano lesson as I found Lucia she is genuinely loved to teach kids and have lot of patience especially with my boy Max who is always not very good in keeping his focus more than 15 mins. Thank you Lucia!!!
