About Luis
- What kind of experience do you have? I have been teaching my native language (Spanish) for over 6 years and during that time I have attracted over 50 adults and 20 children from Staffordshire and the surrounding area, offering private tutoring and academic support such as GCSE, A, AS Levels, The open university etc. I also teach at a Nursery and business company. The classes I have developed, prepared and delivered vary from beginner, intermediate and advanced, providing a range of exercises including speaking, listening and writing. In my first session with a new student I always assess their ability with a Spanish test that I have devised, which then allows me to work at their level, tailor make the classes according to their ability and assess their progress. I always take into account the needs of the student and their aims; for example speaking and using holiday Spanish to understanding the Spanish Grammar. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? Yes I have an Enhanced CRB Disclosure Certificate Registered with OFSTED early years. - Do you belong to any professional organisations? I am a member of The Tutors' Association (TTA) which it is the regulating body for private tutors in the UK.

I have a Spanish bachillerato in Humanities, a degree from East London University and a qualification to teach in the lifelong sector (PTLLS). - How much do you charge? Amazing tutor, really helped me get the best grade possible in my GCSE Spanish even during Covid.
Luis is first class at teaching Spanish to English speakers especially those resident in the UK. He is of course a native Spaniard but also speaks English with complete fluency which is very important to beginners. Not only is he able to teach the basics in grammar and vocabulary, but he can also teach colloquial Spanish in an understandable way. I have had classes with him for several years and he has helped me greatly to reach an advanced level.
I really enjoyed having Luis as an A-Level Tutor, he was very friendly and was always ready to help if you were stuck on a word or grammar technique. He also had great worksheets and examples to help you understand topics. Thanks to Luis’ help, I managed to get an A at A level, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to learn Spanish.
My 16 year old daughter has been receiving tuition in Spanish from Luis for just over a year now. He has been an excellent teacher; calm, patient and clear. My daughter has made outstanding progress under his guidance and has recently achieved an A* in Spanish in her GCSE. She now intends to continue working with Luis at “A” level.
