About Hsuan-Chen
My name is Olivia Lin, and I am originally from Taiwan. I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, where I specialized in Ruan performance. I am currently a PhD researcher in Ethnomusicology at Victoria University of Wellington.
Music has been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I genuinely enjoy sharing that with others. I have taught students of different ages and backgrounds, and I find it rewarding to see each person grow in their own way, whether they are picking up an instrument for the first time or working towards a more specific goal.
I teach in both English and Mandarin, and I believe that a good lesson should feel encouraging and enjoyable, not stressful.
