About Xing

Hi! I'm a Sydney University research master student in Chinese studies with a Master's degree in Translation in Melbourne and a Mandarin Level 1 certificate. My academic background gives me a deep understanding of language structures, which helps me explain Chinese in ways that make sense to English speakers. As a former university teaching assistant and international center instructor, I've worked with students from all over the world. I believe the best learning happens when you're relaxed and enjoying yourself—so my lessons feel more like chatting with a friend than studying. Whether you want to improve your conversation skills, prepare for travel, or simply maintain your Chinese in a fun way, I'm here to help you learn naturally.

About the lesson

Learning Chinese should be both enjoyable and rewarding. I hold a Mandarin Level 1 certificate and am currently a research master at Sydney University, with a Master's in Translation. I typically offer 60-minute lessons that balance structured learning with engaging conversation practice. My teaching style focuses on making learning fun—my students often tell me that time flies during our lessons. If you already have some foundation and want to improve naturally through relaxed conversation, I can help you build confidence in speaking, listening, and reading without it feeling like studying.

Constant is a curious and enthusiastic student. He is always interested in learning new expressions and understanding the cultural meaning behind them. He asks good questions and is very engaged during the lesson. With a little more practice using new vocabulary in conversation, I think he will become even more confident and natural in Chinese.
