About Layton
I am a high-achieving marine science undergraduate at Griffith University. Through my efforts, I have been rewarded with Griffith University's Academic Excellence award in both 2024 and 2025. I am passionate about all things marine science, and want to share this passion with students by assisting them in achieving their academic goals. As a tutor, my goal is to create an environment that allows students to excel and watch as difficult concepts become easy to comprehend.

As a first-time tutor, my aim is to assist you in understanding complex topics.
To achieve this, 1 hour sessions will typically consist of breaking down a topic of concern together followed by a short activity to assess your understanding - active recall is a great strategy to reinforce new or difficult content.
I am not an experienced tutor, so sessions will be quite relaxed and learning will progress gradually. However, my priority is to ensure that your understanding of a topic is enhanced and that you are satisfied with the quality of my sessions.
As a marine science undergraduate, I have a strong background in sciences such as chemistry and biology but also ecology, zoology and other marine and environmental related content.
