About Elizabeth
I am a recent graduate from the graduate biology program (MS) at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. I am about to embark on a journey seeking a PhD in Neuroscience at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. I have been teaching labs for 2 years, and I have experience with tutoring as a former Supplemental Instruction leader at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA.
As a student myself, I have gone from barely passing to excelling in every course and even in my graduate work. I have experienced this long journey myself, and I recognize that these courses are not just about studying. It is also about mental strength and the courage to change your study patterns even if you are feeling intimidated by the task. I understand this struggle, and I want to help you succeed as well! I will encourage you every step of the way, and together, we can work to answer any question that challenges your mind!

I am experienced with tutoring and teaching, with over 2 years of training. I have a passion not only for education, but also for inspiring the students to tackle their to-do list for each class. I aim to equip students with the confidence and skillset to excel in their courses.
I personally know what it is like to struggle with courses in my major. I was once that student, but just before I gave up, one professor's encouraging words written on the back of an exam changed my life. Since then, I excelled in all of my coursework, and this enthusiasm expanded into my research and my laboratory teaching approach. I have encouraged my students by providing them with the skillset needed to succeed in the course, and personally saw their grades improve. I want to help you develop the skillset to not only excel in any course you currently struggle with, but also, prepare you to excel in future courses from day 1!
