About Archisha
For me, maths has never been about just memorising formulas—it’s a way of thinking that helps you solve real-world problems. I genuinely love the subject, and over the years, I've naturally found myself stepping in to tutor and help students overcome their fear of numbers. Seeing that "aha!" moment when a difficult concept finally clicks for someone is incredibly rewarding.
Right now, I’m an MSc student at Heriot-Watt University. Before starting my master's, I studied Computer Engineering (focusing on AI and Machine Learning) and worked as a Software Engineer. Working in the corporate tech world showed me firsthand why building a clear, logical foundation at a young age is so important—not just for passing school exams, but for practical problem-solving later in life.
Because I also have a lot of experience with public speaking and university debate, my biggest strength as a tutor is communication. I know how to take complex, intimidating topics and break them down into simple, bite-sized pieces that actually make sense to the person in front of me.
My ultimate goal is to take the stress out of STEM subjects and help students build the confidence and logical skills they need to excel in whatever they choose to do next!

I truly believe that every student learns differently, and trying to force a "one-size-fits-all" approach just doesn't work—especially for subjects like maths and science. I want my sessions to feel supportive, easy to follow, and completely built around what the student actually needs.
Here is how we will approach our lessons:
When we first start, we’ll take a little time to figure out exactly where any gaps in understanding might be. I am completely flexible with how we move forward—we can jump straight into a specific topic that's causing stress right now, or we can start right from the beginning of the syllabus and work our way up together.
Rather than just rushing to finish homework assignments, my priority is making sure the core concepts (whether that's Algebra, Trigonometry, or Physics) actually make intuitive sense. To keep things fun and engaging, I like to mix in short, interactive quizzes and use a lot of real-world examples. I want students to understand why a formula works, rather than just forcing them to memorize how to use it.
Once we have that solid foundation built, we tie everything directly back to their school curriculum. We will focus on their upcoming coursework, practice exam techniques, and make sure they are fully prepared for whatever their syllabus throws at them.
At the end of the day, my goal isn't just to help them pass their next test. I want them to build genuine confidence in their own abilities and develop the kind of critical thinking skills they can rely on for years to come.
