About Lou
My style of tutoring is to guide my students to getting the right answers themselves without spoonfeeding anything. This way, they can truly understand the lessons and therefore retain knowledge better. I understand exactly what you need and how to tailor the experience to help you study in the most effective way possible. I don’t just regurgitate information from your textbook or the Internet - I conduct targeted sessions that take what you already know to help you understand the parts that you don’t.

For students who just want to cram or prepare for an exam, I have an active recall system set up that allows them to practice questions under time pressure while identifying weak points along the way and strengthening those gaps through repetition and by taking discussion breaks.
The reason why I mainly offer chat and asynchronous sessions is to take unneeded pressure off the student. We’re going to learn at the pace you need in order to perform well. You don’t need to worry about how you look, how quickly you can answer, if your question sounds dumb, your grammar/voice/stuttering, etc. All we need to focus on is the topic we’re trying to learn. You can take all the time you want and interrupt our discussion to ask me as many questions as you need in a judgment-free zone.
