About Payton
I struggled when I was in elementary school, especially with math. I could not find the value of my education on my own and often got in trouble for my grades or my behavior when I was bored in class. My goal is to be the kind of teacher that I needed when I was my age. I pride myself in being able to understand where the disconnects tend to happen and I can see why the student thought the way they did because I've been there, I get it, and I can find a way to make it make sense to you. I have a strong passion for this profession and I believe that students all deserve a personalized experience to the best of my ability.

Lesson structure will remain consistent. We will begin with a quick 1-2 minute session about the student's wellbeing before we get started. I want to know how best to execute the lesson in a way that fits your mindset for that day. We will move on to the following in this order:
-warm up
-introduction
-guided practice
-independent practice
-knowledge check
These lessons are at your own pace, and I will find ways to ensure relatability and relevance. The science of learning will be kept in mind, along with the belief that if you aren't interested, you won't learn.
