About Sophie

I am a masters graduate from the university of Dundee. Specialising in Statistics.

I have sat the National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher Curriculum and keep upto date with changes to curriculum.

I have a passion for teaching and enjoy seeing the lightbulb moment from students when something finally clicks.

I have previous tutoring experience as well as 6 years of swim teaching experience. I am able to plan and deliver lessons and adapt where needed.

Depending on each individuals goals I can adapt and create a lesson plan which will assist them in their learning. Whether it is exam preparation or specific topics within maths.

The way I learn the students needs is by testing their strengths and weaknesses within the subject and building up the key areas which in turn will help them understand more about the topic and be able to use those Within all aspects of maths.

Working through A B and C level question helps to show myself and the student the level of understanding they are at within that topic, and from there I can build-on it with future lessons.

About the lesson

Personal approach is having the student take a practice test to see their weaknesses, allowing me to see their areas of improvement.

I give students the freedom to tell me in advance what areas they want to work on.

I then split the lesson into sections, starting with key knowledge of that specific area then working on C level Knowledge and practice and then finally the advanced knowledge with included A/B level questions.
