About Lynna
I hold a Master of Music degree in Piano from Cleveland Institute of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from University of Toronto. I have been playing the piano ever since I was four, and have performed in the US, Canada, Italy and China. My favorite composers are Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Schumann, Brahms and Scriabin. Beyond music, I love the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and have written a soundtrack for a stage play based on The Silmarillion.
I am equally proficient in English and Mandarin.

I believe that building a strong relationship with the instrument is key to good performances, and that acquaintance with good music nourishes our soul. For every student, I have a personalized repertoire plan divided into technical exercise, repertoire (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20/21c) and pieces you are interested in. My lessons are structured yet energetic, with lots of explanation to details and demonstrations. I also love to do four-hand improvisation with my students, if they want to. Piano, as well as the wealth of music written for the instrument, has done so much for me as a person; I wish to pass on this joy to anyone who wishes to embark on this journey.
