About Maria
Hi, my name is Maria and I'm in my third year of my masters physics degree. I chose to do this degree because I love solving problems and complex maths. This requires a lot of patience and trying problems from many different angles, which will be very helpful in tutoring! I attended a maths specialised sixth form so I am very knowledgeable in the subject. I'm also very friendly and will endeavour to answer all your questions, physics or maths related!

In my sessions I will try to make sure that the student understands the subject rather than memorises the required knowledge as this is very helpful in terms of confidence as well as future studies. The first half of the session will be used for answering any questions the student might have and going over a specific topic that we have identified while the second half will be used to do past paper questions, looking at model answers and general practice. I think students find most success when they understand a topic first and then are able to apply their knowledge to different questions. This will help the student feel more confident in taking on challenges and allow them to not panic when seeing an unexpected question on an exam paper.
