About Alana
Hi! I’m Alana and I love teaching math. I recently graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics and physics. While at CU, I worked as a teaching assistant for Calculus 3 and Intro to Quantum Computing. Before that, I was a private tutor for AP Calculus and AP Physics. Through my degree in advanced math and physics, I have developed a deep understanding of the foundations which allows me to explain concepts effectively.

In my tutoring sessions, I am happy to work on whatever the student needs, whether it be homework help, test prep, concept mapping, study strategies, etc.
I am a unique tutor because of my experience with learning disabilities. I personally have dyslexia and have developed many strategies that allow me to succeed in math and science. I have tutored people with learning disabilities including dyslexia, ASD, and ADHD, and have been able to adjust my tutoring to fit the individual’s needs.
I am ready to meet you wherever you are and work with you to reach your goals. I know math and science can be intimidating and I also know that we can get through it together.

Alana is a family friend and I have known her my entire life. She has been a mentor to me in school and life. She tutored me while I was struggling in a class and helped me to understand concepts that even my teacher could not. She was very patient and was able to break things down in a way I could understand. Along with her with her academic knowledge, she is incredibly kind, logical, humorous, and caring.
Alana was terrific with my daughter who has ADHD. In addition to tutoring her on the content (both physics and calculus) she worked with her on a work/study plan that my daughter was able to follow. As a result, she caught up on missed assignments and passed both AP exams. Alana was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and effective. She met my daughter where she was at and made the tutoring sessions enjoyable. My daughter actually looked forward to them.
