I do not teach processes, in order to be successful in mathematics you must understand why things work the way they do. This enables students to approach unfamiliar problems with a strong understanding and ability to link areas of mathematics together.
I take pride in the relationships I have my students and getting to know their individual needs really
well. I use a lot of formative assessment within my lessons so I can react to the class. So therefore I'm not very rigid in my planning and will sometimes take my lesson in a different direction if I need to.
I have recently passed my NQT year, graded outstanding. I have trained and taught at the same school for 2 years, and have been teaching 8 classes KS3/KS4 of 30 students. My results and progress of my classes have been outstanding and I will be teaching AS mathematics next year.
I achieved grade A at A Level Mathematics and completed a subject knowledge enhancement course after graduating at university.
