About Jennifer
Math education has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I began my career at one of my local middle schools teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math at all proficiency levels. After 8 years, I transitioned to being an online teacher through a public online school where I teach 6th and 7th grade math and high school Geometry. My degrees include a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics, Master's of Education in Instructional Design, and a Master's of Science in Educational Leadership. Through my experiences as a brick-and-mortar teacher and now a remote teacher, I am able to use many digital tools and resources to support learning and foster growth. Every student can learn and every student can reach their full mathematical potential. My goal in every lesson is to highlight the student's strengths, celebrate their wins, and build confidence in their skills. I would love to help you reach your goals!

As a teacher with over a decade of experience teaching students from all levels middle school through college, I bring a unique set of skills into tutoring. Before we begin diving into the content, I assess where the student is at with prior knowledge skills and figure out where any misunderstandings are rooted. I then bridge the gap between required background knowledge and the current content when necessary and use learning techniques suited for the student's learning style. A typical lesson plan is guided through conversation. I ask a lot of guiding questions to allow the student to use critical thinking skills along the way. I will analyze written work for misconceptions and celebrate wins while learning! My lessons are for middle school, high school, or college students who need extra support in math or want to sharpen their skills for the next level. I look forward to working with you!
