About Chloe

Having received a 9 in GCSE maths, an A in A Level maths, and a 1st class BSc degree from the University of Liverpool, my mathematical ability is of the highest standard and my independent learning and studying methods are proven to work.
I received a PGCE (and QTS) with merit from Liverpool John Moores University and now teach secondary school children up to the age of 18 (GCSE and A Level).
I believe adaptive teaching is crucial in student learning and I always strive to cater to my students needs. I also strongly believe that no student is “bad” at maths, they may just need to be shown a different way to what they have been previously shown to solve a problem, which is where private tutoring could really help!
I am young, ambitious and ready to help any student of any ability, and I can definitely offer a high quality service to help students with mathematics.

About the lesson

In the first lesson I would go through the specification/syllabus of the child’s exam or curriculum (dependent on year and exam board) and get them to pick out topics they believe to be hardest. If possible I would like to see work from their school books / past exams so I can further cater my lessons to their needs. During this consultation I would ask students how best they learn, what types of questions or activities work best for them, and what exam technique they’d like to work on.
After this I would spend some time teaching or re teaching a given topic, making sure to scaffold and chunk the work as best as possible (including incorporating their preferred learning styles). I would use a mixture of activities and exam style questions to ensure understanding, finishing a section of work with an end of topic test.

Chloe has been helping my teenage daughter improve her maths skills AND confidence for over a year now. The change in my daughter attitude toward maths has had a complete overhaul since they started working together. Their relationship is just lovely, my daughter actually enjoys her Monday nights when Chloe comes over. It’s a win win! Her maths is improving massively, she has jumped up two sets since being with Chloe, we’re so happy with the progress. Chloe is super supportive, reliable and always on time, she has a vast amount of patience, her communication is great and she’s always flexible if we need to change dates for holidays etc. I literally have no negatives! We’re so grateful to have found her!!
