I use to teach the students not only in the one way but all the possibles way.
Let him/her to know all the methodology and the reason behind it that way it is so.
Goes for the harder way first and the simpler way later so the student will first try to understand the harder way considering it to be the single way.
If the student doesnot understand then the whole topic will be explained to him/her again and again or in the simpler way till he/she doesn't understand it clearly.
