About Kieran

Hi! I’m a friendly, patient, and committed maths tutor with a strong academic background and over 200 hours of tutoring experience. I hold a degree in Mathematics and Sports & Exercise Science, and I achieved a Grade 8 in GCSE Maths and an A in A-Level Maths. My goal is simple: to help you understand maths more clearly, feel more confident, and perform at your best in exams. I know that maths can feel challenging at times—but with the right support, it becomes much more manageable (and even enjoyable!). I specialise in GCSE-level maths, and my teaching approach focuses on learning the method first, then practising it through exam-style questions. This builds your skills over time and helps you feel more prepared and less anxious about exams. Whether you're aiming for a pass or pushing for a top grade, I tailor my lessons to your pace, goals, and learning style. Lessons are usually 1 hour long, but I can be flexible depending on what works best for you. You can expect a professional, encouraging environment where it's okay to make mistakes, ask questions, and take your time. I'm here to support you every step of the way.

About the lesson

As a dedicated and experienced maths tutor, I focus on building both confidence and competence in my students. My teaching methodology centres around understanding the method first, followed by consistent application through exam-style questions. I strongly believe that you get better at maths by doing more maths—and my lessons are structured to reinforce this through practice and feedback. Teaching Techniques and Methodology Conceptual Clarity: I ensure students grasp the underlying principles before applying them. Practice-Based Learning: After learning the method, we immediately apply it to past paper or exam-style questions. Tailored Lessons: I adapt my approach depending on each student’s pace, confidence, and goals. Active Engagement: I encourage students to think aloud and explain their reasoning, helping identify gaps in understanding. ️ Typical Lesson Length Lessons are typically 1 hour long, but I offer flexibility depending on the student’s needs and preferences. Qualifications and Experience GCSE Maths – Grade 8 A-Level Maths – Grade A BSc in Mathematics and Sports & Exercise Science Over 200 hours of tutoring experience, working with a wide range of students at different levels. Who the Lessons Are For I primarily tutor students at GCSE level (ages 13–16), whether they are aiming to pass or looking to push for top grades. Suitable for KS3 students looking to build strong foundations. Support is also available for students preparing for resits or wanting extra revision support.
