About Pacey

I’m a Mechanical Engineer with a strong passion for helping students develop confidence and clarity in mathematics. I specialize in Year 8 Math, providing structured, one-on-one lessons tailored to each student’s school curriculum and learning needs.

My teaching style is clear, logical, and supportive. I focus on building strong foundations in core topics such as algebra, equations, ratios, percentages, and graphs, helping students understand concepts properly rather than relying on memorization. Lessons are delivered online using an interactive whiteboard, allowing us to work through problems together in real time.

I aim to create a calm and encouraging learning environment where students can build confidence, improve results, and develop strong problem-solving skills for high school and beyond.

About the lesson

Techniques and teaching methodology
I deliver structured, one on one Year 8 Maths tutoring tailored to each student’s current school topics, including homework, classwork, and upcoming assessments. Lessons focus on closing knowledge gaps, correcting misunderstandings, and building strong foundations in algebra, equations, ratios, percentages, and graphs.
My approach is clear, methodical, and supportive, adapting to each student’s pace while developing confident, independent problem solving. Lessons are conducted online using an interactive whiteboard to work through problems in real time. In person lessons at my home can be requested as well.

Typical length of a lesson
Most lessons are 60 minutes, allowing time for concept explanation, guided practice, and targeted reinforcement. Extended sessions are available if required.

Your qualifications / experience as a tutor
I hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a strong background in mathematics and analytical problem solving, enabling me to explain concepts clearly and systematically.

Year 8 students (ages 12–14) who benefit from individual attention, structure, and clear explanations, including support with homework, revision, and exams.
