About Ellie
I went to a grammar school, where I achieved grade 9s in Mathematics and Further Mathematics as well as achieving 3 A*s in my A-Levels including Maths and Further Maths. I went to Aberystwyth University, where I was one of the top performing students in my graduating year, with a first in Maths. I started tutoring 5 years ago and have experience working with a different range of ages and abilities, including working with SEN. I am now working as a full-time tutor, tutoring in the daytime as well as evenings. I genuinely enjoy seeing students progress, achieve their goals and discover the joys of mathematics. Whether preparing for exams or strengthening core skills, I'm committed to creating a learning environment where students can thrive.

Maths should be fun and accessible for everyone. I tailor my lessons based on the individual - what their goals are, their interests and where they currently are with maths.
I like to start with a recap of what we have previously looked at, to make sure that previous learning has been effective and goes into long-term memory. Also, maths can build on different concepts, so making sure that there is a secure understanding of previous concepts is key!
With new topics, I try to relate it to the real world where I can, or show where it has come from, before modelling and then letting the student practise questions.
Usually my lessons last for 1 hour, but they can be increased if wanted.
My lessons are for years 9 & below, GCSEs and A-Level students. I am also SEND experienced.

Over the last 6 months Ellie worked regularly with my son who has just taken his GCSEs.
