About Joshua
I'm a maths PhD student at the University of Nottingham, based in Beeston. My research focus is number theory, I recently submitted my thesis. I teach maths up to university level, especially pure maths, but I can also help with applied maths and statistics. I have been a teaching assistant at the University of Nottingham in many different areas, including algebra, number theory, real and complex analysis etc. I tutored a student who previously failed an algebra and number theory exam, who then comfortably passed after only a few weeks of lessons. I was a maths teaching intern at a school in Colchester, years 7-11, so I have experience working with students of a range of ages and abilities. I love to see students progress from struggling with mathematics, to understanding and enjoying it. My lessons are tailored to your needs: I can help with whatever area of maths you like, and adapt according to the level you are at, and aiming for. This includes producing learning material specifically designed to achieve your goals. As an enthusiastic and patient teacher, I will make your experience learning maths as enjoyable and productive as possible, and help you to recognise your full potential.

I try to make maths both understandable and enjoyable! I have experience teaching many undergraduate classes in Nottingham, and also done private tutoring of students there. I can teach maths at any level up to university-level. Lessons are usually 1-2 hours.
