About Connie
I am a maths student at Cambridge, tutoring whilst taking a break from my studies. I have A levels (A* in each) in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics. My work with the UK Maths Trust (UKMT) has given me both experience and enthusiasm for mathematics education - I have been part of the teaching team at summer school and marked Olympiad papers. Outside of study, I enjoy arts & crafts, baking, (very) amateur badminton and being secretary of the Emmy Noether Society (Cambridge's women in maths society).

I tutor Maths and Further Maths up to A level, and Chemistry and Physics up to GCSE. I can also help with Maths university admissions papers - I took STEP II and III (both with high 1 grade) and MAT (93). My sessions will be mostly based on example/past questions, with a focus on understanding rather than the answer. When one understands a method or answer, they are in a better position to remember it and to tackle questions in the future. I aim for a collaborative approach, building on students' ideas and asking them leading questions to break problems down into parts that are easier to understand. Starting each new session with a question based on the previous topic studied will allow me to gauge the progress of the student whilst reinforcing skills already learnt. I hope to help the student appreciate the subject we are studying, even when it is not their favourite!
