About Bhavya
Hello! My name is Bhavya, and I am a dedicated maths tutor specialising in GCSE and A-Level Mathematics. I am passionate about helping students unlock their potential and gain confidence in a subject that many find challenging. I believe that every student can succeed in maths with the right guidance and support. My teaching style is patient, structured, and adaptable to each individual’s needs. Whether a student is aiming to secure a pass or striving for top grades, I provide clear explanations, step-by-step methods, and plenty of exam practice to build both skill and confidence. I am currently a second year student at the London School of Economics (LSE) pursuing a degree in Maths and Data Science. Over the years, I have worked with students of varying abilities, helping them improve their understanding, overcome exam anxiety, and achieve the results they deserve. What sets me apart is my ability to make lessons engaging and approachable. I take the time to ensure students not only know how to solve a problem but also understand the reasoning behind it; developing true mathematical confidence. Maths GCSE & A-Level Tutoring: I offer personalised maths tutoring for students studying GCSE and A-Level Mathematics. My lessons are designed to build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and develop a deeper understanding of key mathematical concepts. My Teaching Approach: - I tailor each session to the student’s needs, starting with identifying strengths and areas for improvement. I use a mix of: - Step-by-step explanations to break down difficult topics into manageable parts. - Worked examples and exam-style questions to build problem-solving skills. - Active learning techniques, encouraging students to attempt questions and explain their reasoning. - Exam-focused strategies, including how to approach different question types, manage time effectively, and maximise marks. Lesson Structure & Duration: - A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes (though longer sessions can be arranged if needed). - Each lesson usually begins with a short review of previous work, followed by focused teaching on a chosen topic, and ends with practice questions to consolidate learning. - I also provide targeted exam preparation sessions closer to exam time. Experience & Qualifications: I have experience tutoring students at both GCSE and A-Level level, helping them improve grades, boost confidence, and prepare effectively for exams. My background in mathematics and teaching ensures I can adapt my methods to suit different learning styles, whether a student needs extra support to build foundations or is aiming for top grades. Who My Lessons Are For: - GCSE Maths (all exam boards, Years 10–11, and Year 9 if preparing early). - A-Level Maths (Year 12–13, including support with Pure, Statistics, and Mechanics). - I also welcome Year 7–9 students who want to strengthen their skills before GCSE.
