About Timothy
I have a deep fascination and appreciation for maths as a subject, and I hope to pass this on to you! I love teaching, and really enjoy seeing my students improve over time, as their knowledge and problem-solving strategies strengthen.
I only gained an appreciation for maths in my last year of high school, and had to work hard to improve my grades. Therefore, I know from experience that an appreciation for maths is cultivated over time, through consistent effort and engagement with the subject. The right teacher makes all the difference, can allow you to reach your true potential.

Lessons can be anywhere from 1 to 3 hours long, for students studying GCSE, NAT 5, Higher, Advanced Higher, A Level, or A Level Further Maths. If you don't fit into any of these categories, or want to learn something more specific then feel free to ask, and I'll let you know if I can help!
I have more than three years' experience tutoring maths, in a variety of different circumstances, online, in person, one-on-one, and in groups. These lessons have often (but not always!) focused on exam preparation, and so I know exactly what the examiners are looking for.
The only way to learn maths is by doing it(!), not by watching someone else do it, or passively listening to an explanation. As such, I strive to keep my lessons engaging and active. Expect to be solving problems together, and learning by doing!
