About Ellen
I am a qualified Mathematics Teacher, I have tutored part-time for the past 5 years and I am familiar with the GCSE and A-Level syllabi of Edexcel and AQA. I gained my PGCE qualification in 2018 from King's College London and since then I have taught in both state and private schools so have a range of experience. As a result of training recently I feel I have an advantage with new GCSE (9-1) and A-Level syllabi as my training was catered specifically to knowing the ins and outs of the new syllabus. My Tutor style In maths it is extremely common for young people to develop maths anxiety from being exposed to maths in stressful environments. As a Tutor I seek to reduce that as much as possible by being calm, patient and encouraging, as I feel it's my job as a tutor to help my tutees work through this. I am very good at questioning, and allowing tutees to reach the answer using the knowledge they already possess rather than handing them the answer. About me In my free time I very much enjoy attending yoga classes in order to unwind and de-stress. I also enjoy music, I sing in a choir and I play piano as well.
