About Dean
I have a Bachelor of Education (Primary). I have been taught in independent schools in Australia and the United Kingdom. My core experience is in middle years (ages 8-14) Mathematics and Science. Currently I am looking to tutor until the end of 2019 before I begin a new teaching position in 2020.

My teaching style places the students at the centre of the learning process. When planning a lesson, I always ensure that I follow key signposts for success. Learning targets are always created as aims for student knowledge, skills and understanding. I begin lessons with a focus framed as a question that immediately provides a base for the student learning. Throughout the lesson I seek to facilitate student led activities that utilise communication and collaboration at the heart of the learning. It is my goal that students form knowledge through inquiry learning and by using higher order thinking skills. Assessment for learning is an essential part of lessons that gives students the opportunity to become reflective and evaluative learners.
