About Sim
As someone who is passionate about maths, I have previously undertaken tutoring roles for children 9-15 years of age.
I hold an A* in Maths GCSE and A-level and an A in Further Maths.
I am also quite keen to support students flexibly when teaching. For personal experience, when I was studying for my GCSE’s, I found it difficult (with the exception of participating within my extracurricular activities) to do anything apart from revise, always feeling that no matter how much I tried, the information I was learning would never ‘sink-in’ as easily as it would for my peers. This did not deter me however, and in order to learn more effectively, I better organised my study sessions and experimented using a variety of revision methods (including using mind-maps and audio-notes). This proved to be tremendously helpful, as my GCSE results not only significantly outperformed my school’s average, but also my teachers’ expectations. Indeed, it was only later that I learnt my difficulties stemmed from my learning disabilities and that I can strive to do anything I put my mind to, as long as I work hard at it and hope to articulate this vigour and enthusiasm when teaching.
