About Sophie
Hi! My name is Sophie, I am currently a year 11 student and I have over two years of experience as a private mathematics tutor, working with students from Kindergarten to Year 10. Throughout my tutoring journey, I've had the privilege of helping a variety of students, including children with additional learning needs, and I pride myself on creating lessons that are patient, engaging, and tailored to each student's individual learning style.

I currently tutor several regular students and have developed a passion for helping children build confidence in mathematics. I genuinely enjoy seeing students overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals. Whether your child needs help catching up, improving their confidence, or extending their skills, I strive to make every lesson both productive and enjoyable.
My tutoring approach begins with identifying the topics a student finds challenging. I then break each concept down into simple, manageable steps, ensuring they fully understand before moving on. During lessons, I like to include short, engaging activities or brain breaks that still reinforce mathematical thinking and keep students motivated. At the end of each session, we recap everything we've learned to strengthen understanding and build confidence.
I create personalised worksheets whenever needed, or we can work through school homework, assignments, and classwork together to ensure students feel prepared for school assessments.
