About Carina
My name is Carina, I am an undergraduate student in my second year at University College London, studying a BASc (interdisciplinary degree). I am 20 years old, I achieved a grade 9 in Maths GCSE and an A in maths A-Level. My A-Levels were during the pandemic, and up until that point I had always found Maths very easy but with the added stress of that time period, I experienced what it is like to struggle with it. I found a tutor and worked extremely hard with him, and subsequently went from a D in my December mock exam to an A as my final grade. This achievement inspired me to become a tutor myself, and in my gap year I worked 24 hours a week tutoring kids (Prime Tuition, Shepherd's Bush Tutors, etc.) and helping them to reach their goals. I have helped kids go from a grade 2 to a grade 4, as well as go from a grade 8 to a grade 9. Maths is an important subject for many of us and our future, and I believe every child should have access to help with it if that's what they need.

My teaching style is perfect if you want to get better test results in school. Together, we will identify exactly what it is that is holding you back, and find methods that fix the problem. We will also identify your strengths and figure out how to use them to the best of your ability. Whether you're aiming for those top results in your GCSEs, or you just need help getting that pass grade in your end-of-year test, together we can work as a team to achieve your goal.
Depending on your goals, we will create a plan of action together for your lessons. In each lesson, I will observe how you are answering questions for a given topic, and we will identify the challenges you are facing. We will keep practicing the topic until you and I are both confident that you will be able to ace it in your exam, and then we will repeat with the next topic and so on.
