About Evelyn
I am a recently retired teacher with many skills developed over a long career. I recognise there are many students who have developed negative attitudes to the study of Mathematics and I have the ability to help them change into successful, resilient students.
I will answer all questions from students and find ways to explain ideas until a student understands.
I continue to learn about developments in Mathematics Education through reading and online courses and discussions with other teachers. I have presented workshops at conferences and been President of the Canberra Mathematical Association, I have teacher registration in NSW and ACT and have Working With Children clearances.

I believe everyone can learn Maths and it is every teacher's responsibility to find a way to develop concepts for each student and build confidence. I am approachable and ready to listen. After identifying basic weaknesses, I work with the student to develop understandings of basic concepts and build a sound foundation for further work. I incorporate interesting, relevant ideas and activities. I aim to develop a growth mindset and resilience in students.
