About Abhinav
I've always been years ahead of my grade level, enabling me to tutor students of the same age on content that they were learning for the first time.
I've been tutoring 3 students throughout high school (i.e. 3-4 years). All students achieved the maximum grade in the International Baccalaureate Higher Level Maths Course with Advanced Calculus.
Achievements:
1. 3rd in State Level Maths Olympiad and top 60 in National Level Maths Olympiad in India.
2. 98.3% avg in high school courses taken under Johns Hopkins University in 6th grade (12 yrs.)
3. Inducted into Julian C. Stanley Study of Exceptional Talent
4. US$ 2,100 Scholarship to university-level university college program in the US. Professors taught group theory, analysis, linear algebra, etc.

I'm a first year undergraduate in mathematics in the University of Oxford on track for a first class degree, willing to offer lessons to pre-university students for either school studies or the MAT (Maths Admissions Test) used for admission by Warwick and Imperial for maths admission and by Oxford for admission to Maths, CS and their joint degrees.
My approach to teaching:
1. Identify gaps in knowledge
2. Create and present examples to be solved that encourage my student to fill in those gaps on their own, building on previous knowledge.
This guided self-discovery of content improves retention of techniques and ensures true understanding of maths, as opposed to rote learning. More importantly, it is how mathematics should be learned, and is in fact the way it is taught at Oxford via the tutorial system.
