About Gabrielle

I am an Aerospace Engineer with two years of industry experience, having achieved an ATAR of 98.05 in 2017 and graduating with First Class Honours from a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Aerospace) in 2023. During and after university, I have supported six students in developing confidence and independence in mathematics and physics through both private tutoring and group-style sessions via Superprof and at my former high school, Cabra Dominican College.

I have continued to tutor post studying, as I love being able use what I learnt, and the things that helped me to help others grow in confidence in their own abilities (and importantly remove the scary stigma around maths!).

About the lesson

Style:
I offer a kind and supportive approach to teaching, providing guidance where needed and always ensuring there is an adequate understanding formed before moving forward. As an engineer, I am able to explain the theory through first principles (building blocks), such the student is able to confidently apply this understanding to more abstract questions independently.

My primary goal is to enable students to gain confidence in concepts they may have previously found difficult to comprehend, to feel comfortable to ask questions and not be ashamed if something doesn't quite make sense - sometimes it just requires a different perspective to understand. I base my approach on what supported me most during my own studies.

Format:
I primarily host tutoring sessions at my home in Leabrook between 9am-12pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
