About Jakob
Hi, I'm Jakob. I'm a recently graduated Mechanical Engineering student of Durham University, with a 1st Class MEng. More than anything I'm friendly and outgoing but I also have a passion for Maths and Physics. Although I'm able to have a laugh and make teaching fun, I know how to pass on my problem-solving skills and get results, through effective and engaging teaching methods.

Having achieved 10 A*s at GCSE (including Further Mathematics, Maths and Double Award Science) and A*A*A at A-level (in Maths, Physics and Chemistry respectively), I am very knowledgeable in the current UK school exam system. I have a big understanding and can relate to the stress and difficulties involved in studying for these exams and the challenges students face with the workload involved. It's my aim to help others overcome these challenges, and gain the confidence in Maths and Physics to achieve the grades they deserve.
Whilst studying for my A-levels, I tutored GCSE students in Maths and Physics. This provided me with an opportunity to help the pupils with their understanding of core content and greatly increased my confidence teaching. During my Masters year at University, I helped mentor 1st year Engineering students, answering any questions they had on various Engineering modules. This gave me confidence in communicating and teaching more advanced material and ensured I was well-practised in the key concepts of Maths and Physics: ones which are necessary for the content of GCSE and A-level.
Lessons will typically be an hour and will be highly engaging for the student. I look forward to tutoring you and help you to achieve your goals.
