About Alisha
I’m currently studying Mechanical Engineering at UCL and have a strong academic background, having achieved A*AAA at A-Level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Computer Science. Over the past three years, I’ve developed a passion for tutoring, working with students of different ages and abilities to help them achieve their academic goals. My experience as a tennis coach for the past two years has further refined my communication skills and ability to engage and encourage students in a fun and motivating way.
I want to teach because I’ve seen firsthand the difference that personalised support can make in a student’s academic journey. Helping students not only understand challenging concepts but also gain the confidence to tackle them independently is incredibly rewarding. Teaching allows me to combine my love for the subjects I studied with my desire to inspire and support students in achieving their full potential.

My tutoring approach centers around creating a supportive and encouraging atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe this is crucial for building their confidence, especially at the A-Level stage, where academic pressure is high. I use a tailored teaching methodology, adapting my lessons to each student's learning style and pace, incorporating a variety of resources like visual aids, question banks, and past papers.
Lessons typically run 60 to 90 minutes, providing enough time for in-depth exploration of topics while keeping the sessions engaging and focused. With three years of experience tutoring Edexcel Maths, from primary school to GCSE and A-Level, I’ve helped students overcome challenges, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds or with specific learning needs.
I aim to help students develop a clear understanding of concepts, set realistic goals, and achieve success in a stress-free, nurturing environment.
