About Jashan
Hi, I'm Jashan! I'm a Mechanical Engineering student at Aston University, currently completing my placement year with GE Aerospace.
I've always enjoyed Maths and Physics, particularly understanding how things work rather than simply memorising equations. I've previously worked as a paid private tutor through my sixth form, and I now also mentor younger Mechanical Engineering students at university.
I wanted to start tutoring again because I genuinely enjoy helping someone go from being stuck on a topic to finally having that moment where it makes sense. Having gone through GCSEs and A-Levels fairly recently myself, I also understand the pressure students can feel around exams and how much difference having someone patient to ask questions can make.
I'm friendly, patient and easy to talk to, and I want my students to feel comfortable saying "I don't understand" without ever feeling judged for it.

I know how frustrating Maths and Physics can feel when something just isn't clicking, so my lessons focus on breaking difficult topics down into simple steps and building confidence as we go.
I adapt each lesson to the student rather than using the same approach for everyone. We can work through topics from scratch, practise exam questions together, go over schoolwork, or focus specifically on areas you're struggling with. I also like explaining the reasoning behind an answer rather than just teaching students to memorise a method.
I'm currently studying Mechanical Engineering at university and have previous paid tutoring experience, so I regularly use Maths and Physics myself and understand the jump between GCSE, A-Level and university study.
Lessons are typically one hour or however long needed and are aimed mainly at GCSE and A-Level Maths and Physics students. Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and telling me when something still doesn't make sense – that's what the lesson is there for.
