About Tanya
Hi! I’m Tanya, a medical student studying at UNSW Sydney:) Ever since my school started teaching each of the Science subjects individually, Biology was the subject that I formed a special connection with. It was the easiest of the 3 sciences to understand, and particularly the topics about the human body always intrigued me as I gained an insight into how my own body works!
In Singapore I used to tutor children who were unfortunately suffering from cancer, due to which their academic progress was hindered. I also tutored my juniors from school. Both these experiences showed me the value of sharing the knowledge I had gained and having a contribution in shaping the future of my students. Bringing clarity into their learning by clarifying doubts and teaching new concepts gives me a lot of satisfaction, and this is why I am passionate about teaching.

I follow the school’s curriculum/schedule to ensure that the student is not digressing from what is happening at school. the topic to teach will be decided by the student and teaching will be delivered through a mix of presentations, tutorials, practice worksheets and mock tests.
Students are free to ask doubts whenever they arise and I will try my best to answer them ASAP! I have been a school student in the recent past and am now a uni student so I understand the concerns and learning styles of various students. I will try my best to align lessons to students’ preferred learning method.
A typical lesson would be between 1-2 hours. I can tutor students in Years 9-12 (high school level). I have had past experience of 3 years as a private tutor in Singapore.
