About Isabella
I am a medical student at Cardiff University with a strong academic background, having achieved six grade 9s and four grade 8s at GCSE before studying Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Art at A-level. I also received a Gold Award in a national biology competition.
I have previous experience mentoring GCSE students in Biology and Mathematics, as well as coaching gymnastics. These roles have taught me how to explain ideas patiently, adapt my approach to different learners and create an encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
Having completed my own AQA exams relatively recently, I understand both the academic pressure students face and the techniques needed to approach them effectively. I want to help students make Biology feel less overwhelming, develop genuine confidence in the subject and achieve results that reflect their full potential.

My lessons are highly personalised to each student’s current level, individual goals and the AQA Biology specification.
I begin with exam questions to identify gaps in knowledge and understanding. We then explore these areas in greater detail, breaking difficult biological processes into clear, manageable steps using diagrams, relatable examples and active recall. Students will also receive access to my own flashcards, created specifically for the AQA Biology specification.
Lessons combine focused content teaching with targeted exam-question practice, helping students genuinely understand Biology rather than simply memorise facts. I also teach students how to interpret command words, apply their knowledge and structure answers effectively.
Whether a student needs regular support, focused exam revision or help with a particularly challenging topic, I adapt every session to their pace, learning style and personal areas for improvement.
