About Samy
As a medical student, I am passionate about biology, particularly how the body works both macroscopically and microscopically. I have tutored many students from middle school, high school, and college. I primarily tutor students in the biological sciences and standardized exams such as the ACT and MCAT; however, my interests in history and world religion have allowed me to broaden my teaching background to these subjects as well. My teaching style is student-focused and involves the teach-back method, where the student explains the content of the session in their own words. I also believe that students learn in different ways so I try to adapt my session to fit each student's learning style.

My teaching method is student-centered. From years of tutoring and teaching, I have learned to accommodate different types of tutors including visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and reading/writing.
A typical lesson starts with a discussion on the student's concerns/weaknesses, going over these topics, asking questions in a non-judgemental manner to assess their absorption of the information, and discussing other related topics if time permits. My lessons can be oriented to students from middle school to high school to college and graduate school.
