About Areeba

I am a doctor with a strong academic and clinical background, and I enjoy teaching medicine in a clear, structured, and practical way. My medical training has given me a solid foundation in general medicine, basic sciences, clinical reasoning, pathophysiology, pharmacology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and disease processes.

I understand that medicine can feel overwhelming because of the large amount of information students are expected to learn. Many students struggle not because they are unable to study, but because the material is often taught in a disconnected way. My aim is to make medicine easier by breaking complex topics into simple, logical steps and helping students understand how different systems and concepts connect.

As a tutor, I focus on helping students build strong foundations and develop clinical thinking. I like to explain the “why” behind each concept, because medicine becomes much easier when students understand mechanisms rather than memorizing lists. I use clinical examples, diagrams, active recall, exam-style questions, and structured explanations to make lessons more useful and easier to remember.

I am patient, supportive, and focused on each student’s goals. Whether a student needs help with general medicine, basic sciences, medical school exams, or USMLE Step 1 preparation, I adapt my teaching style to their level and needs. My goal is to help students become more confident, improve their understanding, and approach medicine with a clearer and more organized method.

My medicine lessons are designed to make medical concepts clear, organised, and clinically meaningful. I focus on helping students understand the core principles of medicine rather than simply memorising isolated facts. The aim is to build a strong foundation in basic sciences, connect them with clinical medicine, and apply that knowledge confidently in exams and real clinical scenarios.

I teach general medicine as well as USMLE Step 1-related subjects, including pathology, physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, anatomy, neuroscience, genetics, behavioural sciences, and clinical reasoning. Lessons can be adapted for medical students, pre-medical students, nursing students, health science students, and anyone who needs support with medical concepts or exam preparation.

Each lesson is tailored to the student’s current level, learning style, and goals. If a student is struggling with the basics, I explain topics step by step using simple language, diagrams, clinical examples, and clear mechanisms. If a student is preparing for USMLE Step 1 or medical school exams, I focus on high-yield concepts, question-based learning, clinical vignettes, First Aid-style review, UWorld-style reasoning, and NBME-style exam thinking.

My teaching style is active, structured, and exam-focused. I help students understand why diseases happen, how symptoms develop, how drugs work, and how to approach clinical questions logically. We can work through difficult topics, review incorrect questions, identify weak areas, improve recall, and build a more organised study strategy.

The goal of my lessons is to help students move from confusion to clarity. By the end of each session, students should feel more confident understanding medical concepts, connecting basic science with clinical medicine, and applying their knowledge to exam-style questions.
