I believe student should read the topic before tutorial, it does not matter whether they understand the topic or not. Reading is important just to get familiar with the topic. It is the job of the tutor to make them understand and simplify the topic by using several examples or relating the topic with some applications in practical life. Most of the time, students get bored when the tutor is only speaking – in order to get the students involved, critical discussion is required at the frequent interval of teaching. This, not only improves the critical thinking power of the students, but also, they get fully involved in the lecture without falling sleep or get bored. In addition, relating the topic with the funny things, rejuvenate the students mind. In these way effective teaching can be done.
